IRENE MUKII MUK ’24

Finally, the tension some of us have had about who the next Miss Universe Kenya will be, has gone. After an exciting week, Irene Mukii MUK ’24 was born. Believe it or not, many Africans were tuned to this episode of MUK. The events leading to the winner caught every pageant watcher on the planet.

Why? We will share shortly. Meanwhile, who is Irene Ng’endo Muki?

To start with, Irene Ng’endo Mukii was born in 1998. Four years ago, she represented Kenya at Miss Grand International Pageant 2020. Though she did not win, she made it to the top twenty list. Also in the same 2020, Irene Mukii MUK ’24 was crowned Miss Africa. She won this title in Nigeria, West Africa out of over twenty-seven contestants.

So, she is quite comfortable with the international stage. And that feeling of comfort, births confidence and ease.

In addition to these achievements, Ms. Mukii is a software engineer. That is a combination of beauty and brains in one person. A necessary prerequisite for an international title holder these days.

With the Miss Universe representatives of some unexpected countries being of African descent, we are keen. Everyone wants to know who their competition is. Thankfully, the internet makes it easy for everyone to see who they are meeting at the bootcamp in Mexico. So yes, the whole world watched the Miss Universe Kenya 2024 pageant. We thirst for another international, African queen.

To close this exposé on Irene Mukii MUK ’24, we celebrate a strong woman. This young woman lost her closest relative and number one fan during her reign as Miss Africa and Miss Grand Kenya 2020/21. How she managed to keep those brilliant smiles in the midst of her pain reflects a focused woman.
