VENUS WILLIAMS: FIRST EVER AFRICAN FEMALE WORLD NO.1 TENNIS CHAMPION

A strong woman. Amazon. First of many; inspirational.

One of the thirty most powerful women in America. First African female to own an NFL franchise. An author. A philanthropist. Her first book was top five on New York Times Bestseller list. First tennis player to win medals at four Olympics. First and only to win Olympics gold in the three categories: singles, mixed and doubles.

I first saw this lady on TV when she was thirteen or something. She was in a press conference with her sister. They both had on braids with beads of green and white. With prayers in my heart, I tried not to miss any news concerning them after that.

In 2007 she obtained an associate degree in fashion design. Then a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2015.

Tragedy struck. 2003. Their older sister and best friend died. Shot. It was a sad experience. Devastating.

An astute business woman. Awesome big sister. Salute.
